Should be called, "the overly planned guide to Disney"

Quick read. Not for those who want to park hop, but ok for those going for 5-7 days. Needs more accurate info about the new Fast Pass "appointment" system. This is not meant for those using park hoppers. Ruined our trip to disney.

A Must Have for a Trip to Walt Disney World

I have purchased Mr. Merola's other travel guides and have found them extremely useful, this updated version did not disappoint. This book is full of information that individuals , especially those traveling with children and teens, will find very helpful. The book covers everything from what the different Disney World parks are like, what rides are in each park, what the Fastpass system is, what rides take the Fastpass, tips for getting the most out of the Fastpass, the various hotels on property, the price options to get into the parks, the different meal plans and all the different restaurants and I could go on and on with just how much information is in this book. What makes this book extra special is the author's love for the park and his insider tips. This is a father, who wants you to love your trip to Walt Disney World as much as he does when he takes his own family. Disney World is a magical place, but it can be confusing and overwhelming. This book helps tremendously with the way it breaks down the information in a clear, organized and easy to follow manner. I recommend it highly for anyone planning a trip to Walt Disney World, even if you have been in the past. I was surprised to read how many things have changed over the years since my last visit.

Many of us are intangible investors - unseen stakeholders with an interest in what is provided by patents and other innovation rights, intangible assets by accounting definition. Berman's commentaries are excellent primers for understanding how the discussion around IP has evolved. Berman rightly points out that the complexity of the IP process and the difficulty in enforcing one's claims may have deterred many companies from getting involved. The lack of data also makes the valuation task difficult. But once patent auctions and other similar events happened, the task of mark-to-market became much easier. Companies that still shy away from valuing their IP aren't simply undervaluing their assets but also shortchanging their investors. Many patent owners still don't want to believe that patents can be sold or traded like tangible assets.

The Intangible Investor is not a complete guide to the IP discussion. But until another book comes out to discuss IP rights this may be the most illuminating set of commentaries - on the past, present and future of IP.

The Intangible Investor - The Insights from a Visionary and a Veteran Deal-maker

“New economy”, “intangible economy”, and “innovation-driven economy” …. We have read and heard about all of these since the dot com bubble. However, it would take a true visionary to forecast how the intangiblization of our economy will unfold. Bruce Berman is such a visionary. Reading the articles in The Intangible Investor that he wrote over the course of more than a decade, you would think that he was talking about today’s hot topics in IP industry. For example, he discussed the issues about patent troll in 2004 (Illegitimate Assertions?, page 29). Quite frankly, I would wish that both sides of the current debate over NPE or patent troll had taken a page from his book.

Most importantly, Bruce Berman is not only a visionary, but also a deal-maker. He is a veteran IP consultant and an entrepreneur in the industry. In this book, he explains the economics and finance of intellectual property, and provides many insights about IP market and transaction. If you are one of the IP market participants and are interested in monetizing or investing in IP assets, you definitely want to read The Intangible Investor.

A good read for IP managers, investors, and entrepreneurs

Bruce has done a great job putting all these chapters together. The book reviews the IP and patent in the past 15 years. It covers all the recent controversial events in the IP world, including the pros and cons of different practices in IP, why it has become such an important part of business, and why it demands the attention of CEOs. It extensively covers subjects such as NPEs, valuation and its challenges, and issues such as patent quality. The chapters are somewhat independent and readers can choose based on their preference. It is a good read for everyone interested in IP; however, I highly recommend it to IP managers, investors, and entrepreneurs who want to take a crash course and quickly become up to date about the state of IP today and develop an understanding of what has happened in the past 15 years, which may mark one of the most important periods in patent history.

Bruce Berman has done it again! The Intangible Investor is the latest book by Berman to show that intellectual property is the key to the success of an economy. This time with a chronology of how the IP landscape is changing, and how a corporation cannot afford to lack an IP strategy is obvious from this book. Anyone who is thinking of an IP strategy or trying to keep up with the even changing face of the patent landscape should benefit from reading this book.

The idea of US being the only place where IP is thought of as a strategic investment, is now gone out of the window. China and other economies are perhaps much more aggressive in looking at IP as an investment. With 80% of a company's valuation being intangible assets, it is imperative that a concerted strategy towards IP is the way to go.

This is a must read for corporate strategists, licensing professionals as well as aspiring IP investors.

Un gran libro!

Creo que este libro contiene todas las emociones por las que pasamos mientras estamos en una relacion. He tenido la oportunidad de leer la version en ingles como la en espanol y es definitivamente excelente!

Poemas de amor es uno de esos libros que sacas cada vez que estas feliz o triste. Hay un poema para cada ocasion. Cuando lo estaba leyendo me trajo muchas memorias de las que ya me habia olvidado. Hay veces que uno no pone atencion a los momentos que de verdad valen la pena cuando estas con alguien y no es hasta cuando lees algo como este libro, que reflexionas y te identificas con cada palabra.

Para mi fue una buena inversion. Se lo recomiendo a todo mundo y ojala y el siguiente libro de este autor sea tan bueno. Tambien la traduccion esta muy bien hecha y mantiene la esencia de la version en ingles.

It's so difficult to express what a blessing this book has been. I've been reading Rivera's blog for some time, and hoped for so long that she'd write a book. Finally, here it is! Rivera's connection - her intimacy - with God is readily apparent, and as I read her words, I wasn't left feeling like, "God is speaking to me." Instead, I felt like, "How I wish I knew God that well!" And I think that's God's mission here: He has used Rivera to draw me into a closer relationship with Him. As I witness her bonding moments with the Holy Spirit (who she knows so well, she doesn't even have to use the word "the" and just refers to Him/Her as "Holy Spirit"), I'm motivated with a desire to immerse myself in God's Word. I want Him to settle into my soul. I want to experience intimacy with the One who created me. It is because of Rivera's writing that I came to the realization that God really does see ME, know ME, and want ME.

I bought extra copies of this book because as I read it, I could think of so many others who needed to read it. I've been handing it out, but requesting it back so I can hand it out again! That said, I've clung tightly to my own copy and carried it with me so I can peek often at some of the words that I need to be reminded of. When life gets hairy, I can look at this book and remember immediately that God sees me and knows what I'm going through, and that there's purpose in it all.

I highly encourage you to buy a copy of this book for yourself, write in it, highlight it, and dog-ear the pages. And buy an extra one to pass to your friends. I'm sure you'll think of at least one who will benefit from it, too.

The times in my life when I've been "hooked up" with God, amazing things have happened and the complete fruits of the spirit were upon me. As of late, I've had a major disconnect and have been "stuck" in a pit that has completely taken over my life, my spirit and has affected every area of my life from my identity to my relationships. So much so, that I have completely isolated myself from everything in my life. Intimacy: into me You see has sparked a change in me to help me bridge this complete disconnect in my life. By sharing her story, Rivera Douthit not only gives you a very honest account of her own story, but also helped me take a deep hard look into my own life and helped me get back to the disciplines of getting back to God's word and allowing God to once again take center stage. I strongly recommend this book for anyone feeling "stuck" in life, it has been a tremendous blessing to me at this stage of my life.

About Time!!

I finished this novel this morning, I loved it. It deals with so many current important issues, the image of a ruling elite (police, govt, etc) who make the rules at will in their favor and destroy anyone who gets in their way. Not being an American the impression I get that it is quite brave to write a novel that tackles these issues - almost like a current day 'grapes of wrath' for our current economic and political slump. I see it as a forum to expose govt intrusion in a courageous way through Dolly's 'paranoia'. If only we had more victories such as Stet's in real life. Anyway I am in no way a literary critic, but as an average reader I can only say I enjoyed it greatly! If only we had more writers willing to 'fight the good fight' - isn't this novel an example of the novelist as social consciousness - the true meaning of artistic endevour. A truly important work.

comic book portrayal, full of errors and silliness

This is a silly book, more like a comic book. It bears very little resemblance to the reality of Snake Valley. I've lived in Snake Valley since 1974 and I kept shaking my head, then my fist, at the comic book portrayal of the land and the people here. The author exhibits no understanding of geography here. An example of slipshod research or editing: Snake Valley is on the west side of Utah, near the border with Nevada. In one scene he describes Wendover, which is split by the Utah-Nevada border, as being on the Colorado-Utah border -- 270 miles away, on the other side of the state. You could figure that out by googling Wendover Utah. If, as an author, you cared. That's one of the most glaring errors but there is way more wrong about this book that there is right. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

Parallel universe, skewed

I have lived in Snake Valley (Partoun) for 40 years. I have been involved with the Las Vegas water grab since 2004. I've been reading since before either. This book is awful. On all levels (unless, perhaps, if you are a fanatic "stick it to the man" conspiracy type). The story reads like a comic book. The setting is like a parallel universe of Snake Valley and its residents -- but WAY out of whack and silly. If you want to know about the water grab, search the web for Great Basin Water Network. If you want to know more about Snake Valley, search for Protect Snake Valley blog. Just about any information you find with a simple search will be infinitely better than what this book provides, and probably at least as entertaining. I wish I could give it a lower rating.
